The CvL Desktop: Strudel2

One way we’re supporting access to HPC resources is with CvL Desktops. These desktops allow researchers to access HPC resources interactively with a GUI, and run visualisation software.

Researchers have already been accessing the CvL desktop with Strudel Web and the Strudel Desktop. In 2020, an updated beta version called Strudel2, was released. Strudel2 Beta not only allows researchers to access a desktop interface to HPCs, but also supports JupyterLab for researchers who wish to run it on HPC hardware. By providing easy access to HPC infrastructure, interactive GPUs, and GUI software like JupyterLab, we’re supporting a broader cohort of the Machine Learning community.
